Der New Yorker Produzent Mux Mool droppt eine knackige Free-EP mit vier Instrumentals und dem sehr (!) geilen berappten Song “Death 9000 (Prof & POS Broadcasting Version)”. Sein Label Ghostly International bezeichnet den sound der “Viking Funeral” betitelten EP als “dazzling take on homespun electro hip-hop” und besser beschreiben kann man es nicht. Sphärische Klänge mischen sich mit hartem Electro und klassischem Hip Hop. Und über “Goblin Town” würde ich gerne jemanden wie Vinnie Paz oder Twista abgehen hören. Viking Funeral contains everything that Mux Mool does best, making it a fine road map to Lindgren’s cracked universe. “Teal Trim” starts things off right with a tight, incisive beat, mixed to cut through a fog of hard-panned synths and distorted melody lines. Mux’s live edit of “Ladies Know” is a hard-to-find instrumental version which foregrounds the track’s bitcrushed drums and dirt-crusted vocal samples. Next up is “Drum Babylon”, a highlight from Mux’s song-a-day project Drum EP, and “Goblin Town”, a mischievous interlude featuring a choir of deep-voiced goblins, singing about their hometown. The Viking Funeral EP closes with its lone track with vocals, “Death 9000 (Prof & POS Broadcasting Version)”, in which the MCs have their way with one of Mux’s more sinister beatscapes.

DTMD, das heißt “Dunc Toine Microphone Doctors Makin Dollas” und ist das DMV-Duo des Produzenten Dunc und des Rappers Toine. Sehr entspannte Tunes, die ihren Eastcoast-Hintergrund nicht verstecken sind das Ergebnis.

Damit auch der arme und mittellose Durchschnittsrapfan in den Genuss kommen kann, gibt’s die EP “The Basics” einfach mal für lau im Bandcamp (sowieso eine Hammer Website). Fünf seeehr chillige Tracks plus Intro, da spricht nun wirklich nichts gegen! Ab geht’s ans Laden, hopp hopp: KLICK.
